1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to Dojournal websites, applications, and related services that link to this policy (the “Service”). Dojournal is a trading journal and performance-analysis service. This policy describes the information we access, collect, use, store, disclose, and delete when you use the Service.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the features you use, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Your email address, authentication provider, account identifier, language, profile name, profile image, and settings.
- MetaTrader 5 connection information. MT5 login, broker and server details, account labels, and the password you provide to connect the account. MT5 passwords are encrypted before storage and are decrypted only by authorized server-side workers when needed to perform a sync.
- Trading and journal information. Account balances, deals, open positions, daily summaries, trade annotations, notes, tags, journal images, and related performance calculations imported from or added to the Service.
- Profile and community information. Information you choose to publish or share through public profiles, leaderboards, groups, invitations, and referrals.
- Billing information. Subscription tier, checkout and payment status, transaction references, and billing history. Payment credentials are collected and processed by Stripe; Dojournal does not receive or store your full payment-card or bank-account credentials.
- Support and feedback. Messages, feedback reasons, and other information you send to us.
- Technical information. IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, request and security logs, sync status, and diagnostic information needed to operate and protect the Service.
3. Google user data
If you choose Sign in with Google, Dojournal requests only the basic identity scopes needed for authentication:openid, email, and profile. Through these scopes, we may receive your Google account’s stable identifier, name, email address, email-verification status, and profile image.
We use this Google user data only to authenticate you, create or link your Dojournal account, display your basic profile, prevent abuse, and provide account support. We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts, or other Google product content.
We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, determine creditworthiness, provide lending services, or use it to train general-purpose AI models. We disclose it only to service providers as needed to deliver or secure the user-facing Service, or when required by law.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- create, authenticate, maintain, and secure your account;
- connect and synchronize MT5 accounts at your direction;
- calculate and display trading history, performance, journals, profiles, and community features;
- provide Portfolio AI responses when you choose to use that feature;
- process payments, grant plan access, and maintain transaction records;
- respond to support requests and feedback;
- detect fraud, abuse, security incidents, and service errors; and
- maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability and usability of the Service.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These include encrypted network transport, encrypted MT5 credential storage, server-side credential boundaries, access controls, user-scoped database policies, secret separation, and security monitoring. No service can guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for protecting your email, Google, MT5, and Dojournal credentials.
8. Retention and deletion
We retain information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, complete transactions, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by data type and operational need. Residual copies may remain temporarily in protected backups and logs.
You can permanently delete an individual linked MT5 account from the Service. To request deletion of your full Dojournal account or Google-derived profile data, email [email protected]. We will verify the request and delete or de-identify covered information unless retention is required or permitted by law.
9. Your choices and rights
You can update profile and account settings, change public-sharing choices, remove linked MT5 accounts, or stop using the Service. You can also revoke Dojournal’s Google access from your Google Account’s third-party connection settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information. Contact us to make a request.
10. International processing
Dojournal and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Data-protection laws may differ across locations. Where required, we use appropriate measures for international transfers and require service providers to protect information consistently with their obligations.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information to Dojournal, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service or legal requirements change. We will post the updated version at this URL and revise the effective date. If a material change affects how we use previously collected information, we will provide additional notice or request consent when required.
